01 - 7 oz good-quality dark chocolate
02 - 7 oz good-quality white chocolate
→ Peppermint Topping
03 - 8 peppermint candy canes or 4 oz crushed hard peppermint candies
04 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract (optional)
→ Garnish
05 - 0.7 oz crushed freeze-dried raspberries (optional)
06 - 2 tbsp mini chocolate chips (optional)
# Method:
01 - Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
02 - Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in brief microwave bursts, stirring until smooth.
03 - Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the baking sheet and spread into a rough 1/4-inch thick rectangle using a spatula.
04 - Refrigerate for 10 minutes until the chocolate is just set but not fully hardened.
05 - Melt white chocolate by the same method used for dark chocolate; stir in peppermint extract if desired.
06 - Pour the melted white chocolate evenly over the chilled dark chocolate layer.
07 - Immediately sprinkle crushed peppermint candies and optional garnishes over the white chocolate, pressing lightly to adhere.
08 - Refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes until the bark is fully set.
09 - Break or cut the set bark into irregular shard pieces.
10 - Arrange the shards loosely on a large wooden board for sharing.
